Islamic Holidays:
Religious holidays are all tied to the lunar Hejira calendar. The word Hejira refers to the flight of the Prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Medina in AD 622, which marks the first year of the islamic calendar (AD 622 is the year 1 AH).
